Senior Lecturer. He has over 15 years' experience in business journalism, consultancy and in-house public relations management. Before joining the university in 2003, he specialised in public relations professional training. Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Editor of PR Books wiki, PR Studies blog and contributor to Forward blog.

 

Beresford, Shirley

Senior Lecturer. She has been an active member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing for 15 years and works as an examiner on their postraduate courses. Before joining Leeds Met in 1999, she worked in arts, leisure, tourism and public sector PR and marketing management. Shirley's research interests lie inthe development of arts marketing and PR.

 

Bowd, Ryan

Senior Lecturer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Ryan mixes a professional life of communications practice with academic learning and teaching. Research interests include the fields of reputation, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and communications. He is undertaking PhD research on CSR communications at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Choo, Gerard

Senior Lecturer and Course Leader (MA courses). He is studying the foundations of public relations theory and the implications of these foundations on the planning and practice of PR. He previously worked in PR and marketing at the Media Corporation of Singapore and its associated and predecessor companies.

Edwards, Lee

Senior Lecturer. PhD successfully completed in 2007 focusing on the nature of power in public relations. Prior to joining the university in 2004, she specialised in technology public relations and worked with some of the largest global technology brands.

Gregory, Anne

Professor, director of the Centre for Public Relations Studies. Past president and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Before moving into academic life, Anne spent 12 years in practice, holding senior appointments both in-house and in consultancy. She edits the CIPR's Public Relations in Practice series and is joint editor of the Journal of Communication Management.

Laville, Lucy

She has 15 years' practice experience in a wide variety of sectors and was PR and Media Manager and latterly Head of Communications at Leeds Metropolitan University, from which she also gained a BA (Hons) in Public Relations.

Minton-Taylor, Robert

Associate Senior Lecturer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. His career spans almost 40 years in motoring journalism and international public relations, and he is a former director of Burson-Marsteller, a former president of the Chartered Institute of Journalists. He is a fellow of the Motor Industry Public Affairs Association.

Senior Lecturer. His PhD at the University of Salzburg involves researching the concepts of public relations and public diplomacy for the European Union. His interests and publications include organisational communication, public relations for the European Union, risk and crisis communication. He has worked for Hill and Knowlton in Budapest and London.

Tench, Ralph

Professor and subject group leader. Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. As an active researcher he manages internal and external research teams focusing on corporate relations, corporate social responsibility and public relations education. He is widely published in books and academic journals and is co-author of Exploring Public Relations, published by FT Prentice Hall in 2006.

 

Theilmann, Rudiger

Senior Lecturer. He holds and MA in communicaiotns from the University of Munich and has worked for consultancies focusing on German and Italian SMEs. He has lectured at universities in Germany and Estonia. His academic interests are in corporate image and identity, PR research and evaluation and theories of PR.
